Time : 7:49:00 pm Title : Christmas Day.. So Happy X'mas to all ya!
Hope ya had a wonderful & joyful day, & ur days filled with joy, hope, love & peace. If only Father Christmas would come drop by with our wishlists fulfilled. Hahahaha...![]() How did I spent my Christmas? Met wawa at 11+ in the morning for some shopping. Reached home at 4pm +. There are sales everywhere. Prices were slashed pretty much. We got attracted by the slashed prices of goods. Satisfying yo! Bought some stuff from The Wallet Shop, which we spent the longest time at there choosing items. Went to Village, bought my dress & I saw some other apparels which I like but didn't buy.... Next time ok? :/ There was sales going on at Diva, & I bought a black pearly bracelet with a flower on it there. I'm counting my blessings to be spending half of Christmas with bestie & being on shopping mode for idk how many days & to have parents who pamper me... Ha ha. This few days, I have spent a what seemingly astronomical amount & it doesn't stop there. My goodness yo! Jessica is awaiting for Chinese New Year. $_$ Okay I know I sound materialistic here. But I DO strictly control my urges & spending, so my habits are healthy & within reason. Its time to work on practising my music. I'm not sure when school reopens for ME though. A friend to discover with a fire in her heart A man under cover but you tore me apart Now I've found a real love, you'll never fool me again.

The crowd in Orchard is very terrible. Thats why we took the bus home instead of MRT. Good luck to those in Orchard today! Shopping dates, anyone? I've cut down on my wishlist. ^^ Happy Christmas, I wrapped it up and sent it With a note saying "I love you" I meant it.

Time : 10:52:00 am Title : Christmas is around the corner .. ![]() -*edited & removed* Updates @ 9.47 PM Just reached home from shopping the whole day with parents, went around Chinatown & then Orchard. I purchased 2 cardigans & saw many nice traditional chinese costumes, but they were expensive & most of it looked too chinese for modern teenagers to wear. Haha :P Saw many nice dresses too, but I still like the ones at Bugis. :P Saw several adorable cartoon stuff like Sesame Street & Hello Kitty at Takashimaya, the price tag is really high, even when I want to buy stationery, the price is a bit too expensive. :/

Time : 9:38:00 am Title : Post-Vietnam Gathering at Samantha's Place (on 18th December)
was fun. :D After 5 PM, people start coming in & there are total like about 20 plus of us. Had potluck dinner which includes food that makes us reminisce about the trip like spring roll in Vietnam style & garlic fries with butter. There were many other great food & sparkling wine too. There was chocolate fondue for dipping fruits & marshmallow, & it seems like a mini food fight. weeeeheeee

Time : 10:27:00 pm Title : Shopping Mode. Our meeting place was at AMK Hub. Went down to B2 only to find her unable to walk & almost limping as she had blisters from her new pretty tartan shoes. She went to buy plaster for her legs, then socks & finally she went to buy new sandals & then wore it for the whole day. How cute. I developed some of our photos at Kodak too & looking at those pictures makes me a happy girl. :P We proceeded on to Orchard for shopping. Saw a really nice dark green long top which looks gorgeous but the price looks astronomical for us. x.x Went to Bugis after Orchard, & found many good buys there.Theres this white sweet dress & ketupat-like pattern-on-the-top dress that caught my eye too. The black gown attracts me the most. I'm eyeing it. :x HEHE, I bought a dress for myself. (: I had insufficient affinity with two pieces of apparels today. Gahhhh. When there's a discount, there's no size, only left with odd sizes (too big or too small). When there's many sizes to choose from, the price is expensive. This is what I call lack of fate with the clothes. Haha. We went down to Vivo from Bugis (whoa) & window-shopped for awhile.

Had a run through at the actual performing spot at the Concert Hall to test the sound. After our turn, puccini band observed the Honour Band. Honour Band One of the rooms we had. For dressing, resting, toilet, shower & hanging facilities. hehe went arnd snapping all these also. :D Puccini band's trombone section with Mr Yusri. Went dining at New York, ate this. Time : 9:09:00 pm Title : My CCA commitments.. JC & Poly Band Festival.
Been very busy with this as this period of 17-21 Dec is the Band Fest period, held at NIE. Took up almost all my time as this lasts for the whole day. Had to put off social bookings till after the concert tomorrow. Today was the last day we had combined practices and sectionals at NIE. Been having lunch at the NTU canteen, which has pretty much good food at an affordable price, the western food there is cheaper than the canteen in SRJC. Got to mingle around & know people from all over pre-U institutions in Singapore. Only 9 JCs and 4 Poly participate in this Band Festival. But the band strength of each band is considerably large.. The Band Festival concert tomorrow is at Esplanade concert hall, 5 PM-7.30 PM. Tickets selling at $13 for circle seats and $16 for stall seats. Anyone who wants to buy tickets can google up Esplanade events and purchase tix thru Sistic. (: Verdi and Puccini band each play 3 pieces. Honour Band play 4 pieces. The pieces are quite hard but with practice its made easier. Been trying to pitch the freakin' high notes. Playing level 1 of a score is tiring & can make you die. Been trying to figure out some rhythm & trying to catch up on some fast parts but practice made it better I guess.... We completed all our pieces & our conductor let us try sightreading on some very difficult scores of a much higher grade. The original speed is like 2 beats per bar on certain parts & there are so many quarter notes & triplets bla bla... our brain not that fast enough to process all the music information within milliseconds lah. Crazy speedy fast tempo. Can't even catch. There's a part with Alto Clef & I've no idea what is it yet... I only know treble and bass clef. I shall google more about band stuffs! (: Overall, the band fest experience is fun. A good place to refill my passion & enjoy myself while learning.. hahahahaha. After all the music lessons & theory, I miss my keyboard piano which I abandoned & its lying dead in my room. I feel like playing the piano all of a sudden. D: Been taking like 1.5 hour/about 2 hours to travel to and fro from home to NTU and vice versa. The journey is long during peak hours... so anyone who is going University in the year 2011 can pool money with me & share a hostel room with me if we ever enter NTU! Haha! The Hall of Residence there looks nice & a 5-star cottage feeling. Bestie is my first choice for a roommate. Imagine doing assignments n mugging sessions. :P Off to send an e-mail to wawa, love ya!

Time : 6:17:00 pm Title : Post-Vietnam Days Been trying to forget the past. Surprisingly, I miss the Vietnam people.
I spent my time on online shopping & online foruming these few days. I was curious about some topics, and forums made me know more. found some great content and substance over the 'JC-or-poly' topic. More or less, I know my answer already. HEHE. My school band got splitted into two groups. The Verdi band and Puccini band. Out of curiousity, I'm trying to find out if theres any meaning to these names. :D Theres nothing major in my musical parts. Like always. :/ For the Band Fest preparation, I will be away at combined band prac at NIE from Wednesday to Saturday from morning to evening & the NIE campus is in NTU itself. Its at Boon Lay, very very far. Sunday, 21st Dec is the JC and Poly Band Fest Concert at Esplanade. Those interested to get tickets can go straight to the organiser at Sistic. I have problem with waking up on time when it comes to school days during holidays and hopefully I don't wake up late again when I have to go to NTU early in the morning. It takes like 1 and a half hour to get there from my house. NUS only takes 1 hour!! I think SMU is even faster... hehe. Girlfriends, faster date me out after my band concert. I need to shop yo! Should I try coloured contacts? >.<

Time : 9:38:00 pm Title : Post-trip blues In this post, I'd talk about the itinenary of the 9 days in Vietnam.
Day 1: -Assembled at Changi Airport early in the morning, Took flight SQ176 to Hanoi. (approx 3 hours) -Transferred to Friendship Village upon reaching Hanoi. -It was like a come-and-go thing at Friendship Village :( -Had dinner before catching the night train to Lao Cai. -Overnight on board the train, 4 to 1 cabin. (its terribly crammed). Day 2: -Reached Lao Cai at 6plus. -We started the climb at Fansipan at about 10 AM in the morning from 1900 m. -Stopped at 2200m for lunch. -Continued the climb to 2800m, have to reach before sunset. -Dinner and overnight at 2800m above sea level. (terribly cold and homesick....) Day 3: -Ascended up to summit at 3143m. -Descended to 2800m for lunch. -Descended again to 2200m to stay overnight. (still freezing cold like cold room... T_T) Day 4: -Descended from 2200m to 1900m above sea level, had combined picnic lunch there. -Descending is dangerous. -Parted ways with the porters. -Transferred to Ban Ho Village. -Checked into the village house and got to relax for the final half of the day... how heavenly.. -Finally got to bathe. Day 5: -We walked to the primary school at Ban Ho Village for school exchange and CIP. -I was one of the ones cutting bamboo. -After the work was done, we went to help with the ''human chain'' when almost the whole team form a long chain along the river stream to pass heavy big rocks from one end to another for the building of the fence. -Had campfire at night. weeee. -I called home. Day 6: -Schools do not operate on Saturdays. So, we went to harvest tapioca. -I got cut twice (the tapioca there grows on very steep and slippery terrain that you can't even balance urself properly up there....) -Both my hands got plastered. -We then went to a farm to peel potato skins and grind them. -Explored the farmhouse. -Walked around Ban Ho market. -Took a 3 hour journey to Bac Ha. Day 7: -Sightseeing days. -Shopped at the Bac Ha market. -Took the night train again back to Hanoi. Day 8: -Reached Hanoi at 5 AM. earlier than expected. -Had a very very long journey to Halong Bay. -Stopped at a factory that makes and sells ceramic and pottery on the way to Halong Bay. -Took the 2+ hour cruise at Halong Bay, we were surrounded by limestone islands. -Went to visit caves. -Had seafood lunch and dinner, which I can't eat. -.- -I realised some things about my health particulars from this. -.- -Checked into hotel at evening. -Went out for dinner, after dinner we went to the night market near the Hotel. -Had a group activity where we had to sit in a circle (oval shape also acceptable) and write on everyone's handbook. -By the time we got back to our rooms, it was past midnight. super tired. Day 9: -Prepared to go home! -Bought out all our barang barang at 7.30am, breakfast till 8.30 am. -Took 3 hours to the airport. -Caught the 1.30 PM flight, SQ 175 back to Singapore. -Landed at evening, 5.43 pm. -Team dispersed! -Home sweet home to my house. Just now in the evening, I took a nap as I wasn't feeling good. I wasn't really asleep. I dreamt something about the recent trip. I dreamt that _____, then ___________________, all by myself and ______________________. The _____ moved ___. It was the _____ _____! I called the __________________________________, but they didn't. WTF? I want to cry already. I tried to ended the dream by fidgetting, it worked, I heard some scary sounds for a few seconds and everything ended. This feels nasty. The feeling of being left alone just sucks.

Time : 9:19:00 pm Title : Home-sweet-homey SRGCE vietnam trip officially ended on 9th december, we reached Singapore at 5.43 PM in one piece, safe and sound. Theres many to learn and reflect on on the trip, after all the times we've been through.
The climb up and down Fansipan made me know a lot of things. We reached the summit successfully. Life there was very simple, especially at the minority village. Its so peaceful that you'd feel like staying there forever. The best things in life are not always be materialistic. Simplicity is beautiful. :) At times, I wish I didn't come back as when we're back, all we worry the most about is studies and school. Life in Singapore is the real reality. 9 days in vietnam is not a dream, but eventually we're forced to go back into reality. In Vietnam, my mind was so carefree I didn't bother about anything or any problems that I'm facing back in Singapore. Now that I'm back, I have to worry about band and affairs of my education. How morbid. Now, i'm freaking down with diarrhoea. Sometimes, my stomach is freaking so painful. :( Theres not many photos now, but I'd upload them when I've gathered enough of them from Facebook... Till then. |
