I know its a VERY unearthly hour to be here now as official school term hasn't started (orientation hasn't started!). I just completed an assignment worth mega-millions (hehehe). I desperately need sleep too (sigh). I notice that I have a lot of brackets everywhere right in this post (hahaha)....

The Joint-Admission Exercise Application Posting Results will be out very soon when dawn arrives... hopefully the people involved will get into the courses that they desire. I would like to what you people got. As for those withdrawing from JC, I would like to know your status too if I could. Although, on the emotional aspect, I'm not bothered about friends leaving JC anymore (must be optimistic, let go and move on. YAY hz!). I know many people will self-suspend themselves from school tmr. Fine, those emotional trails always follow me, I admit. Too many friends broke my heart already. Some just leave LIKE THAT. ITS OKAY. I will survive myself.

I've SMSed some friends, I really hope you'll get the courses that you want.. If no, sometimes alternatives may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. =)

I will blog in 4 hours time. Hahahaha.
2AM! YES, TIME TO HIT MY BED :DDD
I'm sleepy and high. Lala! *hearts.

Sometimes, I am very highly disturbed by the dreams I had at night. Some dreams are so wrong, but its too fuzzy that I can't remember it.... I always remember my dreams vaguely.

I will only meet my comfy bed at 2 A.M later.

Just went to the after-school mall nearby SR for dinner, as the shophouses next to the school were all closed. -.- found some great, nice reads at the community library there.

Tell me, do I really look like I have the anti-poly attitude towards people?
I look unacceptable about poly ed?
Some people said that about me.
Though I rather continue in JC...

but, if I were a 12 pointer, or a 10 pointer,
thats a different story.
If I really had that good results, I would have applied for Poly & for sure I would have gotten in.
Most probably Temasek Poly.
But as torto said,
since I have decided on JC, I should not think about alternatives or look back..anymore & focus on my goals.
For we can't change what happens to us but we can change our reaction towards it.

the other day, my pet of less than 1 day died.

this koala bear i bought many years ago was cheerfully hung onto my pencil case on a bright day, clutching on ...

then, halfway during lesson, I realised it dismantled and died.

my fault? No. It was clutching happily to my pencil case and the next thing I saw was this.

):
I have to declare this creature R.I.P. a goodbye forever.

Now, I rear bananas. =D

Wanted to share and since Chinese New Year is coming, heres some pics for ur viewing pleasure ..

taken in 1993.

What is your True Fear?
Your Result: Death

Over all things the one issue that you are most terrified about is dying. You can't stand the thought of how you will die, when you will die, and what will happen after you die. Chances are you can be slightly paranoid, sensitive, or superstitious at times. Your nervous and apprehensive nature may turn people away from you sometimes. The truth is that everyone has to face death some day, so just get your mind off dying and start living for the present.

Losing Someone
Being Alone
Looked down on
Where Your life is Going
Commitment
Disappointment
What is your True Fear?
Quiz Created on GoToQuiz

Losing someone? I'm not bothered anymore. People can go wherever they want.

Being alone? I always get pangseh. I've to adapt in order to adapt.

Looked down on? I don't really care what people think. What matters is I'm happy with myself and lived a life that is worthwhile. Whatever people think about my academic isn't my problem.

Where my life is going? At times, I really have doubts about that too..

Commitment? I am commitment-phobic in certain aspects. Like the social aspect.

Disappointment? I have faced them again and again till I'm numb. Reality is always ruthless...

Everything will get better in time.

We have to learn to adapt to changes and move on.

Title : On lessons & learnings

Ms Ng did some motivational sharings with us when the SP people were on monitored-self study in one of the Lecture Halls. She told us about the students in the big big posters which are placed on the walls of the lecture hall. The photos were taken from her year. The students in the poster are all student leaders and one of them is a A Level top scorer from her cohort. Subsequently they all made in to the Local University and the girl is now a Scientist. She also told us the college received a letter from NTU some time ago to congratulate the school saying quite a number of SRJC students from Engineering have cap scores (they call it GPA in Poly) of 4+, which is of Dean's list standard. They are SR students who graduated with First Class Honours, and the main point of her sharings is... Discipline.

I am here blogging for a reason because I have homework to do which involves using the computer.. Tsktsk, BIG distraction! I have due-tomorrow deadlines and have strict tutors who 'take care' of us.. Not that I want to risk getting scoldings from them.... but I need an outlet to pour out my thoughts. I DO finish my work, not to worry. Discipline pls, girl! :(

I realised a certain specific department in the school is very stringent in tutorials.. I think all the teachers there are just as stringent.

There are many things which I have been finding the chance to say.

I've learnt... that many things in life don't come for free.
Over the past several years, I have been studying people (not that I'm freaky or what, just that I'm interested in psychology) and tried to understand philosophy, but failed. But I certainly have many thoughts going on in my head.....

There is the analogy of life similar to being on a train journey.

Life is like a train ride. We get on. We Ride. We get off. We get back on and tide somemore. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy, some will result in profound sorrow.
When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents!
Sadly, this is far from the truth. Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence.
They are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn.
These people are out brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we wil learn to love and cherish.
Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will go merrily along.
Others, will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey.
Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off..
Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarcely leave a sign that that they ever travelled along with you or ever crossed your path…

We will sometimes be upset that some passengers whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own.
Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.
Nevertheless, once sought and found, we may not even be able to sit next to them because that seat will already be taken.

That’s okay, for everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes.
We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and look for the best in everyone.
The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come.
Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop.
Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.

School life is also part of the train journey.

I've seen way too many peers come and go in JC, the experiences I've met is really similar to the train ride. Those friends come and go, some unexpectedly & you will never know what action will ur friend take next (be it to stay or go). Sometimes, just when we start to get involved deeper into our social circle with our friends, some of them just have to alight from the train and hop onto another train journey....

Its painful, I know. Seeing closed ones leave is a sad thing.

But then again, I'm certain we'd get to the main station and meet up with everone else.Everyone will all be carrying their baggage.. most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.

I’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage.. and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life.

I always wonder around the train cabin, constantly moving from one seat to another. Sometimes, I prefer to seat on the single-seater seats!
Some people can just stay in the same spot,
while some others can just take life one step at a time.
Most of us are on the train journey for a ultimate destination to reach somewhere.
Hopefully, everyone will reach the 'interchange' of education.

Arrivals and Departures (social-wise) are part and parcel in school life, I'm not bothered anymore, for I've learn to keep the faith and try my best to stay cheerful to things that happens.

Yu zhen's tears were touching. ):

Title : Re: Social

Sometimes, I have many things I want, or wanted to blog about.
But I just don't know how to say it out...

When I see a big group of people hanging out like a clique, I thought of a few of them in the group and wondered, how many of the people in the clique are friends that they are close to and can truly rely on? Are those people really happy being in the group? Or do they just seem to fit in, but the fitting-in part is only superficial? Not that I'm specificially highlighting anyone, but seeing so many social drama going on nowadays, I always think of stuff in my mind.

Sometimes, I wonder
who are the people who'd stay in my life when the rest of the world walks out on me?
who are the friends who are really loyal to me?
who are the peers who are not superficial?
who are the people we can truly rely on?
what kind of friends are the friends in my life?
are my peers, '笑里藏刀'? (direct translation: daggers hidden within smiles)
I know that no man (or women) is perfect, even the closest of friends aren't perfect in every single way, but sometimes, the complexities in this realistic world is profound to comprehend.

From enlightenment I've read about, there are 3 types of friends in our lives.
Friends for a reason, friends for a season, friends for a lifetime.

Friends for a reason are friends who get together for a reason e.g business partners, project teammates, interest-group friends, friends who get together because they're in the same lecture, CCA mates..
Friends for a season are friends for only a period of your life. e.g classmates, army buddies
Friends for a lifetime are friends whom even after graduating, starting work, quitting jobs, getting married and settling families, call you out to catch up and gossip about life's happenings.
Theres only a handful of such people whom we adore in the third category.

So which category does yours belong to?

However, they are some friends who are hard to categorise.
Perhaps its because of the fact that as we grow up, we change environment, we meet new people, have a change in our social circle and we move on, we've outgrown our old friends & even the best of friends become old friends.

There are also some friends who belong to a number of categories.
There are other categories which are unknown.

Whatever the case, I know that I'd treasure friendships, esp special ones, even if we moved on to another phase of our lives where things wouldn't be the same as now. (:

My right eye has what the chinese call 'mak ziam'. This time, its for real because it can really be seen! Its a swollen bump on my upper eyelid. I asked mummy how long will it take to heal and she said ' if you have it on your right eye, tie a black string on ur left middle finger and vice versa'. Old beliefs that kampong people believe in.

The pain is like the 'blue-black' (orh cheh) pain. I feel like I gotten punched! ):

Today is the release of O Level Results,
Sadly, many of my friends didn't get so good results for their O Levels.
Its depressing.
Never mind, 17 is still a young age,
we can always take alternative routes in life so dont be that upset.
I know its easy to say, but I've been there done that tooo.... its morbid, I know.

I have community service work this week.

Last night;
Went out to P.S with the S5 for dinner.. It's Cheryl's 18th Birthday!
We walked around & I tried to hunt for my shoes..
Saw some nice bottoms.
Didn't buy shoes cos.... not my size!

We went to a jap restaurant at The Cathay for dinner. We placed our orders by taking sticks with the label of the food we want and pass it to the waiter. Theres the conveyor belt with sushi and stuff too. The food not bad, wayne ordered crab & extra food (guys are guys! haha) & when the bill came it added up to about $60 for the 4 of us i think.

Now its time for me to go back to my diet plans to meet my new year resolutions.

We took some photos & we went All the wayyyyy to Orchard Cineleisure. Quite far but good for digestion! They suggested taking neos.

I'm lazy to upload camera photos. bleah.

We parted at Somerset station at 10.02 PM. I reached home 30 Mins later.

I bought one item from diva's turquoise collection. I went home and took it out and wonder HOW-TO-MATCH-THE-COLOUR with clothes! Apparently I find turquoise striking and kind of hard to be matching. =/

& then I realised many turquoise-things. I bought an accessory in Vietnam that is turquoise, the shawl in I bought in Vietnam is turquoise-y, my previous blog theme layout is sooooo turquoise to the extent it looks too blue & greenish, the pig pencil case I have been using since JC1 is flowery & turquoise, my broken water bottle also turquoise.. HEHE! Wait, I have turquoise undies too. :D

Now I keep wondering how to match turquoise accessories and turquoise shawls. I think my wardrobe is so red-pink-& bright. hahah.

Buy me anything turquoise & I will be happy. :D

Me wish that her room will be green-bluish or bluish-green.
Green is good for for our eyes y' know? Green is therapy for improving eyesight.

this is so cute...

They should make lecture n tutorial books green and the school to be more GREEN. So environmentally-friendly colour.

If only the ppl in SR could be as green. :D

School term starts tomorrow! :(

I've got a lot of things, I have to do. All these distractions, our future's coming soon. We're being pulled, in hundred different directions. But whatever happens.... I know I've got you.

My Admissions Data

Date of Admission:
18 Feb 08

Date of Graduation:
31 Dec 10

Batch:
JC1 (2009)

Stream:
Arts

Repeat Status:
Repeat Yr1

Intake:
Repeat

This is cut from my profile in the portal. saddening to see this, i know.
More & more people know about my status already, so might as well I say it on my blog.
Oh, I think the school seriously2 has serious inaccuracies on the Subject Combination part.
They mixed up the streams.
But can't blame the school also.
Should blame the path I took.
Changed my mind last year, wanted JC rather than poly

I don't know whether to really look forward to 2009. I don't dare to look too far yet, for fear of hurting myself again. Most importantly, I don't want bad history to repeat itself. Guessed I chose the harder way out at the end of the day.

Title : SR Open House 2009

I am involved with the band in the performance part.
Performed 3 times at 3 time slots.
Lunch was provided.

There are many changes in the college's environment.
The canteen is in the midst of renovation, but they replaced the traditional typical school dining tables and chairs with modern bar-like ones. How to accomodate every1 during the lunch hour?
The Canoe-ing wall is taken down and the space is extended to be another part of the new Student Activity Centre.
One good thing is that the canteen toilet got demolished, extended, reconstructed and refurnished. Its very spacious and more cubicles and its nice too. One thing is, the mirror that girls stare at every morning is gone cos the area there got sealed up by walls-taken by the gent's.
Didn't check out the PE area though, they said Mr Goh's office is gna be demolished and converted into a house of shower cubicles. Yay. :D

Not many people came to the JC Open House. People rather go visit Polys right. Not much ad was done on North Zone JC Open House too.

I saw a lot of my GCE teammates around the school. Met like one whole bunch of Vietnam people & we talked. I kind of miss those days tho sometimes, I don't have good feeling about certain things. I want spring rolls & party! :X

This year shall be a better year. <3

Title : Wild Imagination

A shopping trip at Ikea.

They really have stuffed animal toys that are out of the world.

There are a huge variety and arrays of animals on the shelves, there are so many of them that if you switched off/dim the lights at Ikea, leaving only a small ray of light from the centres, you will think thats its a mini night Safari there!

It really looks like a mini animal safari there....

The newsflash below is a storyline made by yours truly.
It is found that there is a certain species of animals preying on other animals, casuing population imbalance in Ikea's stuffed animal toy area. hehehehe.

NEWS OF THE DAY: Parent eats child. Scary.

It is founded that there is a similar species who goes around being a predator to many animals.

Elephant eaten!

NEWSFLASH: ALERT.
A species of shark which is known to be harmful to safari population is on the loose.
YES. Its the dark blue shark!

teeheehee.. !

it preys on bears.

look at the vast number of preys he has finished. My....

Yearning for a bigger appetite, it has moved on to preying on Polar Bears!
SCARY.

If u owe these animals from Ikea, be sure to keep a lookout for them and keep them protected. Better still, make them an endangered species.

The End.

The food chain is really a terrible thing....
Hence sometimes its better if they are kept in a zoo.

You yourself can buy all the animals in Ikea and create a mini Safari in ur home too! :D

Title : The start of an awesome trip.

Its high time I start blogging about my Global Classroom Experience Trip to Vietnam.
I wonder, why hasn't anyone bugged me to blog about my trip updates? Haha.
Okay, here goes for Day 1.
I wanted to blog both Day 1 and Day 2 together, since theres really nothing much on Day 1. But, there are too many photos already. So I will post on 1 day at a time. A picture means a thousand words!
But, I have details n some of my thoughts too.

Vietnam trip Day 1.

Assembled at Changi Airport early in the morning.

Before going in to board, many group photos of us were taken by the parents. So, we have many of such photos, as seen below because the parents snapped us non-stop.

Boarded the 10 AM flight to Hanoi, Southern Vietnam. SQ 176. I believe I can fly.....
Plane partner: Bertrand.

Upon reaching Hanoi, we transferred to Friendship Village. Friendship Village is a Residential Treatment Center for victims who were affected by Agent Orange during Vietnam War. Most of the victims are youngsters. The impacts and aftermath of Agent Orange has caused the victims to be deformed, physically, mentally or both. E.g mental handicaps, sensory limitations..

Not all the children there are orphans, many whose whose parents who cant care for them adequately because of poverty, or because of the severity of their own condition or their parents own related health problems. Many of the children are unable to continue in school either as a result of their mental or physical handicaps or because of teasing from other children. The Village provides them with a place to live, access to necessary medical care, and provides constant supervision for the children whose mental problems would otherwise lead them to endanger or harm themselves.

We were given quite some time to interact around with the people at the place.

we helped out with their artwork, talked to them and some of them are quite friendly & tried to communicate with us. ^^
I was wondering why some didnt respond to our verbal communication, only to find out some of the kids there are deaf and mute.

We went outdoors and played games like catching with them too.

Some of the kids there are kinda scary (in a rowdy and positive way).. u will know what I mean soon..

This girl below wearing green and white, shes one of a kind in violence! Playful lah..... She can whack people causing them pain. Her strength is massive. Some of the things she did to MANY OF US;
-show up from people's back by sudden &..
-pull people hair. hence, some of us have to keep re-tying our hair.
re-tie hair, hairband get pulled again.
-pull people's pants.
-lift up people's jacket with force.
-push people very hard from the back (we look like a failed domino rally effect haha)
-she can pinch you also.

I know someone mentioned before he has the photo of the girl pulling my hair. Never show me. :/

despite the children's conditions, they can be a rowdy bunch & live happily. The good things in life doesnt always have to be material.

Performing time. We practised many times for the items back in School!

We left Friendship Village to go to a restaurant for dinner before catching the night train.
Its kinda sad as the Friendship Village was like a 'come and go' thing, having only a chance to mingle with them for a short while.

The kids there were so carefree, they dont blame anyone for the fate they have. Instead, they just accept it and move on in life. A learning point for us; - Sometimes we must learn how to live with circumstances and learn to move on......... just like me now.
Continue. We had dinner.
hmm, where's dinner! hungry!

YES, the dishes are served!

THIS SPRING ROLL is my FAVOURITE in the trip! Top favourite. We were served spring rolls often throughout the trip, but it doesnt beat the one I ate on the first dinner. Its fried and crisp, munchy & rich & the chilli is just... heaven. Too bad, 4 to set, so each of us could only take 1. :(

After dinner- proceeded to Lao Cai Railway for overnight on board the superior 4-berth cabin.

My cabin mates: Delaila, Jacqueline, Eveline.

Its very cramped in the cabin. Cramped to the extent that you wont bother to really go and pack.

The cabin corridors also cramped....zzzz

I slept on the upper deck. Kinda scary at first. I thought the ledge wil break on me if I climbed up and down. :x

haha, Eveline is doing her packing below!

Had group debrief in one of the bunks. Was very tired after the day fully ended and we are left to our own in the privacy of our cosy mini cabins...

Though the day didnt start off well cos of some things that went a bit wrong from the start at Changi Airport, things got better.
Felt kind of happy to give back to the community through selflessness.
I've learnt how to lear to live with other people and learn to get to know the people i'm with if i cant be with the ones I know...
Also, must appreciate the things here in Sunny Singapore, seeing people in situations worse than us...

Okay I shall not quip my reflections here.

I talked to Dear just now.
(12:02 AM) Jessica:
hey dear
(12:03 AM) Jessica:
thot u went off for god liao
(12:03 AM) Jessica:
good*!

OMG. thats scary okay! The negative part about typo errors. :(

Time to hit the bed before I wake up at 11+ in the morning ..
